What customers have to say about our service....
From Tony, New York, August 2011:
It has been an absolute pleasure working with KTL Restoration. Tom, Pam and Kurt are truly wonderful people who delivered a dream, not a car.
Let me share some background information concerning my 1955 Chevrolet. Back in 1960, my father purchased his first car, a 1955 Chevrolet 150 sedan. He was all of 16 years old and immediately began to make modifications. This included yanking out the straight six and installing a 1958, 283 cubic inch Corvette engine. He preceded to drag race it until it caught fire in Coney Island shortly thereafter. The car was transferred to his mother’s garage and he had hoped to turn it into a gasser to race at the now long defunct Islip Speedway. Wife, kids and life came into the picture and it sat for some 45 years rusting away. Through all this, Dad would not sell, although he was often asked to. He would fix it up when he could.
A chance discussion with one of my neighbors led me to Tom. I could tell by looking at my neighbor’s Cougar that if this hunk of metal had any chance of being reborn, Tom and KTL would be the ones to do it. Right from the beginning, Tom showed himself to be a knowledgeable gentleman who wanted to take on this challenge (sitting for over 45 years, after the fire, the 55 was in rough shape to say the least). He traveled all the way to New York from Virginia and the process was on.
Tom, Pam and Kurt worked diligently throughout the process and were always professional and kind. In this day and age, it is often rare to find people who are honest, caring and incredibly gifted in their craftsmanship. I can not say enough about the car that was delivered. The pictures speak volumes. The 55 was built exactly the way my father and I envisioned it. The look of awe in my father’s face the first time we took it for a spin was priceless. KTL took a hunk of rusted metal and turned it into a masterpiece. I am grateful beyond words. Thank you Tom, Pam and Kurt.

From Richard Lay, King George, VA:
Tom rebuilt my 1967 cougar and the quality of his work is outstanding. He is very knowledgeable, dependable and skilled in his field. Tom is a perfectionist and he spent a lot of time making me aware of my options and involving me in on all decisions. I highly recommend him, but he can not be rushed.

From Jeff Wilson, Ashburn, VA:
Tom Lawrence knows more about Cougars than anyone I've ever met, and the quality of his work is second to none. Tom took my beat up 1970 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible and made it good as new again! If you're looking for good, honest and thorough restoration work, I highly recommend KTL Restorations - they are the best. Thanks for everything, Tom.

Tom, I just wanted to thank you and all the folks at KTL Restorations for the fabulous work on my 1969 Cougar convertible. You were a pleasure to work with and you truly know Cougars. Your work was meticulous and I really appreciate that you took time to provide updates and pictures on the work progress and made every attempt to tailor the work to my vision for the car. The journey took us through several unexpected obstacles however, the end result was fantastic. All of your recommendations in our conversations during the restoration process were right on target. You are a true asset to the Cougar community. I would not hesitate to use your services again or to call for advice. Thank you very much for getting my car back on the road!

From Don Rush, West Coast Classic Cougar , Salem, Oregon:
Tom went the extra mile for us on this one... It was a joy to get his pictures every Friday showing what they had accomplished during the week, we really looked forward to them and it helped us to understand what exactly was going on. Tom and Kurt were very pliable the whole way through, more than once Tom would make comments like "I will paint it purple with green flames if you want, it is your car and I will do it however you want!". We could have had our 1969 428 CJ Convertible done anywhere in the country and more than one person asked us why an Oregonian would send his car to Virginia for restoration. Tom has lived and breathed Cougars since he was a kid and still owns the 1970 Eliminator he bought new. Price aside (which was too low) where else are you going to get this kind of knowledge and Cougar specific expertise? If you are wanting a Cougar restored that is going to be worth six figures or close when you are done make sure the guy who is disassembling it, putting power tools all over it and then putting it back together knows his stuff... We slept well knowing one of the most sought after, rare and valuable Cougars of all times was in Tom's shop... We would do it again in a heartbeat! Job VERY well done KTL.

From Ron Pence, Winchester, VA:
When it comes to Cougars, KTL is king! Tom restored my 1969 Standard Convertible from the ground up and worked with me start to finish on the details. KTL can do as little or as much as you like, and Tom's wife Pam is really good at keeping Tom on track when it comes to budget. As with any project the key to success lies in open communcation, setting realistic expectations and making timely decisions. KTL will help you with both and keep you informed of thier progress every step of the way.
